What the heck is for dinner?
I made some Green Goddess dressing with buttermilk that I think is more viili at this point. I don’t know when I started it (months ago, but not years ago), but I’ve been adding some fresh milk to the last of my buttermilk for a while. Rice with kale and carmelized onions. Juliette has me on a no processed foods, no coffee, no wheat, no cold food, no raw food, no sugar regimen. I suspect it is the regimen that traditional chinese herbalists put everyone on, but it can’t hurt.

Stashing away recipes for the fall, but this is for now. If our impending house guests hadn’t just called to report that they’re trapped in Chicago and won’t be here until tomorrow, I’d be making this right now.

Cheese and pickle sandwich. Cheddar and acha, more precisely. I looked through a few recipes and wound up freestyling. No sugar, even though it is supposed to be sweet. No shrimp paste because I didn’t have any. Hot peppers even though it is not supposed to be spicy. One onion, a tablespoon of tumeric, a good sized hunk of ginger, some chiles, some garlic, lemongrass, 3-4 macademia nuts,...
