I spent the day trying to figure out how to write my first backbone.js app from scratch. Rather, I spent the day not getting out of my seat but looking for new and different ways to avoid confronting my befuddlement. I hate this, this not knowing, but I will persevere. Because I know php is the wrong tool and I’ll be stronger for figuring this out.
On the way home I stopped to wave at a friend who was doing yard work with his little brother who has gone from a very young fifteen to a very grown seventeen in the last two years. The subject of figs and fig trees and overabundance came up and before I knew it I was at the top of a ladder with a very large bagful of figs. My trees are small still and wont bear fruit for another year or two.
In the oven now (because what better way to spend a 91° afternoon) experimental granola (cooked rice may or may not be a viable addition), figs in honey (we’ve got no brandy around here, I will go hunt down mascarpone or something though) and black beans. The beans are full of garlic and the very last of last years frozen arugula paste. Hoping the cover is sealing the garlic in.
Now to put laundry in, so I can take it out and hang it on a drying rack and take the temperature of this room down a few degrees.
